II. Product Selection

  1. What are the differences between SMD LED and DIP LED? How to choose? SMD LED features compact size, suitable for automatic SMT assembly and reflow soldering, ideal for high-density and mass production. DIP LED comes with through-hole pins, convenient for manual soldering and maintenance, with more flexible options for viewing angle and power. For mass production and space-limited products such as instruments and electronic devices, SMD LED is recommended. For small-batch production, frequent maintenance or applications requiring bent long pins, DIP LED is a better choice.
  2. What is the difference between 0603 and 0805 SMD LEDs? The core difference lies in dimensions: 0603 size is approx. 1.6×0.8mm, while 0805 is approx. 2.0×1.25mm. 0603 saves PCB space for miniaturized products; 0805 has larger power margin and easier soldering. We supply both types in red, yellow, blue, green, orange, white, bi-color and other versions.
  3. What is addressable LED? What is the difference between addressable LED and RGB LED? Addressable LED integrates built-in IC driver chips (0807, 1515, 2020, 4020 addressable series etc.). Each single LED can realize dynamic effects such as running light and gradient lighting via programming, working as one independent pixel. Ordinary RGB LED requires external driver circuits to control three color channels separately. Addressable LED is preferred for light strips, pixel screens and ambient lighting; RGB LED is suitable for static indicator lights.
  4. What applications are side-emitting LED beads suitable for? Side-emitting LEDs (020, 3010, 3015, 0402, 0602, 0802, 1204, 4509 series etc.) emit light parallel to the PCB board. They are widely used in edge-lit backlight, ultra-thin indicator lights, key backlight and other space-constrained scenarios.
  5. How to pair IR transmitter and IR receiver? IR transmitters (5mm round type, 1206 SMD IR transmitter etc.) emit invisible infrared light, while IR receivers (nose type, molded through-hole receiver, 1206 SMD receiver etc.) receive and demodulate infrared signals. When selecting parts, ensure the emission wavelength matches the central wavelength of the receiver. For remote control applications, 940nm transmitters normally match 38kHz receivers.   6. What are the features of Piranha LED? Piranha LED adopts 4-pin through-hole packaging. It achieves better heat dissipation than standard 2-pin DIP LEDs, withstands higher driving current and delivers higher brightness. It is commonly used in automotive lights, signal lights and other high-brightness applications. We supply specifications including 5mm flat-top Piranha LED.
  7. Can digital displays be customized? Yes. We offer standard digital tube series and support customization on dimension, luminous color, brightness, common anode / common cathode and pin definition, applicable to instruments, home appliance display panels and other mass-production scenarios.
  8. Do you supply LEDs for automotive lighting? Yes. Our automotive LED series includes dedicated beads and modules for motorcycle angel eyes, demon eyes, daytime running lights, side marker lights, as well as finished lamps such as forklift boundary lights. III. Technical Parameters

  1. What is the working voltage of LED beads?   2. What is LED sorting and binning? Discrepancies exist in brightness and wavelength after LED production. Sorting and binning classify LEDs into different groups according to brightness and wavelength ranges. We perform sorting and binning for every batch to ensure consistent brightness and color within one shipment. Customized bin ranges are available upon client request.
  3. What is the recommended soldering temperature for LED beads? SMD LEDs: adopt reflow soldering. Peak temperature shall not exceed 260°C with duration within 10 seconds. DIP LEDs: manual soldering temperature below 300°C, single-point soldering time ≤3 seconds. Keep proper distance between solder joint and encapsulation. Detailed soldering profile is listed in corresponding datasheets.
  4. Are LEDs sensitive to static electricity? How to implement ESD protection? Yes. GaN-based chips including blue, white and green LEDs are especially vulnerable to ESD. Workshops should equip anti-static wristbands, ESD mats and ion fans. LEDs must be stored in anti-static packaging. Our products reach HBM ESD resistance of 2000V, yet standard ESD operation procedures are still required.
  5. What is the service life of LED beads? Under rated current and favorable heat dissipation conditions, the theoretical service life of LED beads can exceed 50,000 hours. Light decay depends on chip quality, encapsulation glue and operating current. We utilize Grade A chips and high-temperature resistant encapsulation materials to avoid yellowing and discoloration during long-term operation.

  1. Can luminous color, brightness and wavelength of LED beads be customized? Yes. We support customization on luminous color, brightness range, wavelength scope, epoxy color (transparent / milky white / colored), pin length and bent pin forming (such as F3/F5 90° bent pins). Customized color temperature or chromaticity coordinates for white LEDs are also available.

4. Are the products RoHS certified?

Yes.
